Joseph E. Scherger, M.D., M.P.H. is founder and Medical Director of Restore Health - Disease Reversal. He is also a core faculty member with the Eisenhower Health Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Scherger is Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at USC, UC Riverside and Loma Linda. He author of Lean and Fit: A Doctor's Journey To Healthy Nutrition and Greater Wellness ( Third Edition, 2019 ) He is a graduate of the UCLA School of Medicine and received his training in Family Medicine and education in Public Health at the University of Washington.
Dr. Scherger practiced traditional medicine and taught in Davis and San Diego, California before coming to the desert in 2009 to lead primary care and medical education at Eisenhower Health. Dr. Scherger has received numerous awards, including being recognized as a "TopDoc" in San Diego for 6 consecutive years. In 1989, Dr. Joseph Scherger was recognized at National family Doctor of the Year.
In 2011 Dr. Scherger began to study and practice Functional Medicine and has achieved great success in reducing body weight and restoring health without medications. He offers Primary Care service to a limited number of individuals on a concierge basis. He is also Medical Director of the anti-aging company, Intervene Immune, and provides anti-aging medicine services.
